Flying Start – Support for 2-3 Year Olds

Tŷ Hapus Day Nursery is proud to be a part of the Flying Start programme, a Welsh Government initiative designed to give children the best start in life. This programme provides free, high-quality part-time childcare for eligible 2 to 3-year-olds.

Government Childcare Offer

30 Hours Free Childcare - For 3 and 4 Year Olds

For parents of 3 and 4-year-olds, Tŷ Hapus Day Nursery supports access to the Welsh Government's 30 Hours Childcare scheme. This can provide up to 30 hours of funded early education and childcare per week for up to 48 weeks of the year, subject to eligibility.

Eligibility criteria

  • Your child is aged 3 or 4 years old.
  • Parent(s) or carer(s) meet the working and income rules set by the scheme.

Fforestfach (Cwmdu)

  • Registered for funded 3-4 year old childcare.
  • Please note that typical funded allocation is often around 17.5 hours at nursery, with the remainder potentially shared with school (depending on school arrangements).
  • School-run services and food may have additional charges when using funded hours.

Morriston (Tan Y Lan)

  • Registered for funded 3-4 year old childcare.
  • Supports 30 hours funding and tax-free childcare options for eligible families.
  • Funding split with school can still vary by your child's school setup.
